kamaainas report-that the season has
been the worst for mud and bad roads
In 14 years. Never has it rained so
hard and so incessantly in that por
tion of Maul for many years. In fact.
all Maui has had a most abundant rain
fall during the last four months. Three
ana a quarter inches fell one morning
recently in Kula at Erehwon. It is
reported that at Hana and the Nahlku
'j T T -"
dent 1 of Aahiku recently said: "We
have had only five pleasant days la
the last five months."
The trouble, at Kuahi is a serious
one. Pines are rotting on the ground
because the mud is too deep to get a
cart through. In some places th hnhn
strike the top of the ruts and in other
places-men on horseback can hardiv
get along, and often have spent nearly
an hour getting over one mile of mad
a lew days ago Worth O. Aiken, who
had a big crop of pines come off, had
to ship from his place around to Paia
aepot and. then by train to the can
hery a'distanceUen times that of the
trip between the fleWandT the Haiku
ruit and Packing Co. .-.
A most interestine rhinUt
ing of the Central Maul ministers was
neid tolay at the Kahulul iTninn
church. Rev. A. C. Bowdish, chairman
or the committee on these meetings. ,
was in charge and led the devotional
service. Rev. R. B. Dodge outlined j
ine dock cr uaiatians. Rev. Howard
Harris.' pastor of the K&hulni TTnion
church then gave the third of a series
or lectures upon what a minister
should be and ffchat he should do. Rev.
C. G. Burnham of Thnina rAviawwt J
large number of sermon topics from
the book cr Galatlans while Rev. .Mr.
Bowdish gave the fourth lecture upon
the early church history as found In
tne D00K cr Acta and other New Testa

V Following the meeting a delicious
luncnecn was served at the parsonage
