Tba old folks came frompntMaya, Ireland. At the time of his. brother Mike's first success Tom had. never boxed publicly, and it was mostly beca ise. of his desire to help Mlke in the gyuii n as turn by acting as' boxing partner' that he finally took up . hia . present profession. Shortly after he had start ed boxing the old enthusiastic fans In his home city decjaredhim: "another Mike-Tsr4edfcesflra matches for Tommy, ; .among.,, them; Buck Crouse. who; at that. time was just at the height f his career, and George "K. The Hawaiis took the first two games and total pinfall while the Cosmos contented themselves by grabbing the last game by eight pins. Both teams went home happy. Capt. Bill Williams showed that his uigu ciass uuwinig ui laic uu j flash in the pan. The Hawaiis anchor . man averaged 1S9 which puts him in fast company. H. S. Canario and John Arevedo celebrated their raises by keeping the Rapid Transit Company standing high. The Cosmos veterans showed some high rolling. J. C. Chamberlin an Les lie Scott grabbtng the honors. Cham berlin finished a most successful sea son with a 215 count. Last nighfs results give the Ha waiis undisputed possession of third place with a chance for second if the Oahus fall before the All-Chinese Mon day night. The Oahus are out to win four straight from the first series' win ners and Monday's match should be well worth witnessing. Crime was widely assorted last month but gambling topped the list) with 282 arrests and net receipts bf $1709. Aa important feature of the report is the arrest of 12 defendants for selling liquor ; without a license and $628.80 realized from these ar rests.. The new liquor inspector, W. H. Hutton, is responsible for this showing. There were 16 arrests for adulter, 53 for assault and battery and 30 for drunkenness but this last figure is by no means an indication of intoxication in the city last month.
