RETURNING HERE
Little hie ' is expressed by John
Drew, head of the shipping depart
ment of Castle & Cooke, 'the Matson
agents, that the agreement regarding
the releasing of Japan and " neutral
shipping for the use of the Allies in
the Atlantic -will result ; in saving the
Matsonia, Wilhelmina - and Maui for
the Honolulu service.
Publication of the news of the
agreement reached by the United
States, Japan and the neutral govern
ments started the rumor here that the
Matson people had already been noti
fied that fne, three big steamers of the
company would not now be taken by
the government as troopships.
When asked about this rumor Mr.
Drew replied: "I hope it is true, but
we have had no such advices. I hardly
believe or hope it will become true,
because' of the adaptability of the
three steamers for transports. The
government plans to use them have
gone too far. It is said that with
slight alterations the steamers will
carry 4000 soldiers each. I hardly be
lieve that the plans would now be
changed, much as we all might wish
they would be." p
He does not - doubt, however, that
the shipping agreement will aid in
getting other steamers for the island
service.
It is asserted that the shipping
agreement will release shipping ton
nage of more than half a million tons
for the use of the Allies. Included in
the ships released are believed to be
the scores of Dutch ships which have
been tied up with full cargoes in the
Hudson river since last July.
POSSIBLE MATSONIA MAY
RETURN, SAYS SKIPPER
: "There is a possibility that the Mat
sonia might return to Honolulu," said
Captain W. Rind of the Matson liner
yesterday, "Of course I cannot make
a definite statement, but I have heard
that a great amount of shipping has
been released on the Atlantic coast,
and there is a bare possibility that we
will return.'.'

A flushed face may be the first no
ticeable symptom of indigestion, but
disregard this warning and soon there
is unmistakable pain for ind'gestion is
a progressive ailment. At first the
symptoms may be relieved by pepsin,
bismuth or soda but these things do
not overcome the excessive acid in
the. stomach which is usually the un
derlying cause of the trouble, and con
sequently the acid accumulates and
the occasional attack of indigestion
becomes chronic dyspepsia. The
dyspeptic is always particularly liable
to gastritis and gastric ulcers in the
stomach are only too often the fore
runners of peritonitis, stomach can
cers and death.
For this reason physicians ; place
much importance upon keeping the
stomach free from harmful acid and
are continuously aavismg cnronic
dyspeptics as well as those who only
suffer occasional attacks of indiges
tion to keep a little pure bisurated
magnesia handy, and to take a tea-
poonful in a little water after every
meal. Practically any druggist can sup
ply you with bisurated magnesia and
all -stomach sufferers aro advised to
g,t an ounce or so and give it a trial.
Care should be taken: to tell the drug
gist to give you magnesia fn the bisu
rated form as other magnesia prepara
tions while valuable as laxatives and
mouth washes are not recommended
for the correction of stomach acidity.

Five Men Teams ,
Water baseball is played with five
men on each side. Catcher, pitcher,
and the three basemen form the crew.
There is no necessity for gardeners in
this game. The game Is played ac
cording 'to the regulation rules, and
the runners must swim from one base
to another. x
In the first game played the Infield
ers caught a number of fly balls and
on two occasions made double plays.
Bunting has been introduced, but th
scoring on a sacrifice" fly. hasn't work
ed out as yet. In the first game the
B team won out by a score of 2 to 0
from the A squad, which shows that
there is a possibility of close contests.
Imagine a player making a deep
dive and sliding into second? Tho
umpire has his troubles. Imagine the
woes of a spit ball pitcher who has
taken up the game! And best of all it
is pleasant to remember that there are
no big outlays for masks, protectors
and other paraphernalia. You have to
wear a bathing suit and know how to
swim. That's all.
