Karl Frederick Wiedman, who is be
lieved to have formerly been a Ger
man consular agent in China ancf
While so engaged to have been also
employed as a cartoonist for various
newspapers in the Orient, and to later
have enlisted in the United State3
service in the Philippines, was ar
rested here yesterday.
The arrest of Wiedman is believed
to have been under a presidential
warrant for no information of an
other warrant, was obtainable from
any of the federal court officers. He is
said to have been under, surveillance
ring visitors except on Wednesday
afternoon and Sundays unless they
are guests .opjommissioned officers.
