RAIN Sec, (1) Where the space be tween buildings is less tlian fifteen feet the water from the roofs of the buildings shall be conducted in water tight leaders and jnaclc to discharge into suitable drams leading onto street or alloy gutters and if any buildings is so situated that tho water from the roofs of said building will-run under the building and not drain off tho same rulo shall apply. This regulation shall not apply to buildings where the amount ot water discharged from tho roofs will not bo detrimental to the public health or public sanitation. AIR SPACE BETWEEN BUILD INGS. Sec. (2) No building, flush with a street or streets bounding tho lot on which it is to stand, shall hereafter ba erected within five feet of any other boundary Hue of said lot, un less the naturo and location of such building and the purposes for which it is to be constructed and adapted, do hot require said vacant space for the preservation of public health and public sanitation. There shah be clear air space of ten feet between all buildings, except sucli as are flush with a street or streets boun ding the lot on which they stand unless the nature and location of such buildings and tho purposes for which they are to be constructed and adapted, do not require said vacant space for the preservation of the public health and public sanitation The word "buildings" in this para graph snail bo construed to mean and include sheds, lean-tos, privies outhouses and all other structures of similar character LIGHT AND VENTILATION OF DWELLINGS. Sec. (3) Each and every room in tended for use for human habitation shall be provided with at least eight square -feet of window area having unobstructed access into tho open nir for each 100 square feet of floor space in said room; and at least one half of said window space shall be movable and availablo for ventilation AIR SPACE UNDER BUILDINGS Sec. (4) Every building shall have on an average at least twenty inches ot clear space for the circula tion of air between the floor timbers and the ground, and shall have suf ficient openings for ventilation in the outer walls to admit a free circula tion of air; but, in caso this air space cannot bo secured without reaching "ground water level" then thero shall bo no air spaco, but tho floor shall be of concrete or masonry. YARDS, AREAS, COURTS ETC.' See. (5) Yards, areas, courts, al leyways and other open space with in or between buildings, whore water is used for washing of any kind, shall b' properly graded and cemented, or paved so as to be water proof, and drained into trapped drains proper ly connected with sower or cesspool whor.o practicable or drained away 50 feet from any dwelling and no per manent wooden floqr or grating shall bo maintained over tho same. "WATER TIGHT FLOORS. Sec. (6) All houses structures, rooms or parts thereof, in which water is used, or intended to bo us ed, in .such quantity as to render tho floor or floors thereof constantly damp, shall havo such floor or floors, made absolutely water-proof, with proper drainage into trapped lead ors conveying tho water awa' into cesspool or sower where practicable or drained away 50 feec from any dwelling; and tho water proofing of all such floors shall bo dono in a man ner satisfactory to tho Board of Health. Sec. (7) No building or structure shall bo used as a residenco or placo of human habitation or abode which is situafe'd tipoii la'nd Whero thero is standing water within eighteen inches of tho surfaco of tho ground; nor shall any building or structure bo so used that is placed on land that, has been mado by filling in with dangerous and insanitary refuse or garbago or any substance dangerous to tho publio health. REGARDING PRIVY VAULTS AND CESSPOOLS. Sec. (8) No privy vault, sink or cesspool shall hereafter ho located or constructed withm ntty cot ot any stream, lake, pond, well or spring of wator, nor within two feet of tho lino of any lot; nor shall it bo made moro than eighteen or less than six feet deep, or piaceu in such a position that it is not easily acces sible for emptying and cleaning. Sec. (9) When necessary for tho preservation of tho public health the sides and bottom of any privy- vault, sink or cesspool, shall bo made either wholly or in part water tight, so as to prevent any saturation of the ground about the said vault, sink or cesspool, and snail do provided with sultablo ventilating arrange mcnt. Sec. (10) Iso structure or cover shall be put upon or over any privy vault, sink or cesspool, until it has been inspected by the proper agent of the Board of Health and approved as meeting the requirements of these regulations and of public health Sec. (11) Any privy-vault, sink or cesspool, already constructed which has becomo a nuisnncc, or in any way dangerous to life or dctri meutal to health, shall.bo removed, re-constructed, or altered to meet the requirements of these regulations and of public health, as directed by the Board of Health or its Agent. Sec. (12) The Board of Health or its Agent may causo the emptying or disinfecting of any privy-vaults, sink or cesspool that is dangerous to tho public health, at the oxpenso of tho owner or occupant of tho premises after 48 hour notice and failure to comply therewith. Sec. (13) No privy-vault or cess pool shall be excavated or maintain ed within ten feet of any dwelling house or inhabited building or cook ing-house or placo where cooking is done. bee. (14) All waste, sou, sower or drain pipes shall be of cast iron, lead or vitrified clay. If of iron or lead the joints shall be caulked with molten lead; if of vitrified clay, they shall have tight cement joints all joints to be smooth in the inside open drains may bo of water tight masonary. Sec. (Id) All cesspools or privy vaults when abandoned and the use thereof discontinued shall bo at once disinfected and filled with earth sand, ashes, or other clean material In no case shall material dangerous to tho public health be used in fill ing such privy-vault or cesspool SANITARY REGULATIONS FOR STABLES. Sec. (1G) Tho floor of the stalls shall bo mado water tight and may bo mado of tbo following materials Tongue and grooved planks, cement. asphaltum or broken (coral) rock to the dopth of six inches covered with clay well tamped. Sec. (17) All stalls shall bo con structed with a slant'of at least three and one half inches from front to rear. Sec. (18) Tho water tight floor ing of the stalls may be covered with suitable material, provided such ma torial shall not bo allowed to becomo saturated with animal discharges and remain until insanitary, Sec. (19) Liquid discharges from animals shall be couducted into drain or ditch to a cesspool or sower where practicable and said drain or ditch shall bo flushed and kopt clean Sec. (20) All manure from stables shall be removed at least ono m each week. Sec. (21) These regulations shall truck, express, dairy and all'' other, stables whero five or moro hoYsetJor mules are kopt. REGARDING GARBAGE 'A Sec.
