school-boy, who was one of the three
lads sent out by W. R. Hearst, tho

to break the record for tho trip
around the world, arrived hero at
0:55 a. m. today on time, which
breaks all previous records made by
Georgo Francis Train and Nellie Bly.

for Manila firms, aud it is now re
ported that tho City of Para, late of
the Panama route, will also sb'on be
dispatched by the company to Mant
la, sailing direct, and carrying pas
sengers, as well a freight.
In the yard of tho Wilder Steam
ship Company is a very largo buoy
which has been built for Maalaea
Bay. It is constructed of wood. The
Lehua will take tho buoy to Maalaea
and Captain Tom Clarke will probab
ly go along to superintend the laying
of the structure. The now mark has
been named "Maalaea Baby." As
soon as it is put in position its bear
ing in refcrenco to points on the sur
rounding shore of the bay will bo
sent to the United States Hydro
graphic Office so that it may be not
