of the first half of the seventh, the
score stood 16 to 3 in favor of the
Gym. Then the Japs came in their
half, and lambasted' Sterling's de
livery all over the field, and, the
grandstand being packed with kid
dies, started to root and make
loud noises which created great ex
citement, and the Asahis scored
ten runs in this inning, thus mak
iugr the score 16 to 13 in favor of
the Gyms. The Gym. boys gather
ed 5 more runs in the eighth in
ning, while the Asahis scored 3
runs.
The Asahi team stood a good
chance of winning the game, for
Pitcher Sterling was .apparently
weakened in the seventh inning,
while Catcher Pomba got injured
and had no one to relieve him, but
unfortunately their chance was
tossed away when it poured at the
end of the eighth inning; Umpire
Anderson saw fit to call the game
off and declared the Gym. boys
the winners over the Asahi outfit,
the score being 21 to 16.
It is interesting to note of the
Gym. -Asahi game that the Gym.
team had three past Senior League
umpires in the persons of W. Chil
lingworth, Ad. Chislett aud Col
lins doing the coaching stunts on
the side liness, while Joe. Oliveira
was the lone coacher for the Asahi
team.
According to schedule, the first
game of next Sunday will be be
tween the Paia and Young Cubs,
and the Waikapus and Kahuluis
will cross bats in the second game
ball
