Miss M. B. Coombs, for fourteen
years- bookkeeper for the J. M. Dow-
sett Company of Honolulu, died early
Tuesday morning after an illness of
several months.

Christmas Cheer for Europe.
A movement is on foot in Honolulu
to raise a fund to help send a "Christ
mas Ship" to war-ridden Europe. The
plan has largely as Us object the
providing of Christmas cheer for the
children of the struggling nations. It

Government will provide a transport
from New York to carry the dona

powers and limitations of the Board
of Supervisors of the County of Maul
were defined in Section 62 of Act 39,
of Session Laws 1905 as amended by
Act 149 of Session Laws of 1911 In
re the Election at Large of the mem
bers of tho Board of Supervisors of
the County of Maui NAMING THERE

the law is not generally understood
throughout the County;
AND WHEREAS this Board is d
sirous of reorganizing its metnods of
transacting the busincbs of the Coun
ty, to the end that a more efficient and
economical administration of the af
fairs of the County may be attained:

direct that this resolution and the fol
lowing rules be printed in the news
paper both English and Hawaiian, and
that notices of the same be piinted
in both languages and posted through
out the County;

County property of whatever nature,
shall be recorded in the said book, in
due form, stating date of meeting
either regular or special, and by what
member of the said Board of Super
visors offered. When any order for
new work or materials shall be incur
red, it must bear the stamp of the

Board of Supervisors of the County of
