supper with there husbands last night
when we saw them and a nice little
lea party the four made. The bride
grooms are brothers, but not twins. It
is not often in a lifetime that one
is permitted to see

bandsare easily distinguished the one
from the other. The elder one wears

simply a mustache. The trouble tobe
apprehended is in the sameness of the
wives, and a very pretty sameness it is.
To use a homely but trite pinase, they
are as like as two peas. To describe
both: They are of a medium size, per

seem to be about twenty years old.

The plan 1 < o-operation in manu
facturiog pursuits has been attended
with a great degree of success. The
following facts were laid before the co
operative congress in London, where
delegate* from about one hundred and
fifty societies of £nglund,Scotland and
Ireland composed the body. Thro
co-operative stores in L incastcrsliiie
have severally' accumulated in a few
years £100,000,£200,000 ami £500,000
capital out of profits. The co-peralive
societies in Oldham were doing a very
lively business. Tiny bought their
own grain, ground their own Hour, and
were turnind a mill product of from
£200,000 to £.500,000

year. They ow
ned cotton factories with an aggregate
capital of £3,000,000 subscribed by
workingmen. Their retail stores made
a profit of £50,('00 annually. Tho re
