It was only a day or two ago that the editorial columns of the Gazette con. taiued an allusion to the heavy tax which this »State imposes on her owu insurance companies, while outside companies doing busiuess iu the State have to pay comparatively nothing, aud already a bill is in course of preparation that will not only remedy this unjust discrimina tion, but atl'ord other protection to hoi insurance companies. Jt is really prising that this ommission on part of the General Assembly of Delaware has existed so long when the States are de fending their home corporations by im posing at least an equal tax and amount of license fee upon domestic ami foreign companies, ami in many cases a higher tax, miles the latter companies shall show and prove that its capital is equal to the amount uf capital required of tin* State companies. 1 have before work entitled "Statutory Requirements Relating to Insurance."
