Ml Robert Fryer, of New York, has *|evised a velocipede steamer of which the hull is to be out of water. The vessel floats in thieî hollow spheres of sheet steel, two astern, and all provided with ~ to gtip the water as they revolved. The upper works of the ship are to depeud upon the spheres that do the propelling, and will be mads as light us possible. An ocean steadier, 210 feet long by 180 feet deep has been desigued, of which the spheres or paddles are 60 feet iu di ameter.
