Catharine Lewis, colored, also saw Hallett with a woman on the night of the murder on the road to the cemetery. Albert Willey testified to meeting both Hallett and Mi the cemetery Kendall K. The defense failed to shake Bryan's testi mony by cross examination. The State closed at 4.30 and Major Lof Und opened for the defense and said he would prove an alibi. Annie Dunicls was called and said she and Hallett the tri mony Ha _ Attorne\-G» neral the night of tin* shooting took p which Bryan had said in his testl Ha-Î t want« «! hiiu to testify to. . The positive evidence given by the first three witnesses Thursday ha* had a depress ing effect on the «lefensé. The recogni tion of Hallett by the murdered compani« ing, faste cueed beyond the a doubt : while the testimony of the later witnesses of t lie day proves that Bryant w as, About tin* time of the murder, playing billiards at Lowery's Hotel.
