Marion, treasurer of Ya vapai county, which passed under suspen sion ol the rules by a In II ana unanimous vote. Mr. Brady for committee on education, reported for in definite postponement ol the compulsory education bill. Yavapai delegation re ported against further action on petition or citizens of Chino valley, asking that a certain iortioii of the public school fund be set apart for a private school. Mr. Woolsey introduced bill to define bound aries ol Maricopa county, which was read twice and referred lo Maricopa and Yava pai delegations. Bill to encourage hold ing fairs was indefinitely postponed by eight ayes and the nay of Mr. Zeckeiidorf. House bill making probate judges elective was indefinitely postponed. Bill amending section three of chapter fifty-seven of Compiled Laws, was indefinitely postponed, and the same ac tion was liad on bill relating to number and duration of terms of district couits. Davis introduced a hill to provide lor care of indigent persons. Mr. Redondo intro duced three bills, viz : Concerning inter preters; lor protection of illegitimate children; and for transcribing records of Yuma county all three being afterwards read twice and properly reterred. Mr. De Long introduced a bill to regulate and license gaming houses. This bill was thereafter read twice and referred to special committee consisting of Messrs Davis, Re doudo, Stevens, Zeckendorf and Mr. Presi dent. Bill creating office of phonographic reporter passed by nine ayes. Compulso ry education bill came up, and Mr. Brady's motion to indefinitely postpone it, was lost by four ayes and the nays of Messrs Davis. DeLong, Hargrave, Stevens and Zeckendorf 5. It was amended so as to take effect September 1, 1Mb, and then passed by five ayes and the nays of Messrs Brady, Campbell, Redondo and Mr. Presi dent 1. Committee's adverse report of yesterday on petition regarding school fuud by citizens of Chino valley, was ac cepted. Message was received from the Governor announcing his approval of Pi nal county bill and also one repealing chapter 18, creating offi.;e of Territorial re porter. Recess taken till 2 p. m. Afternoon session. All present but Messrs Davis and Zeckendorf who came in during the session. Mr. Campbell for lavapai and Maricopa delegations report' ed favorably on bill to define the bound- ariesot Maricopa county, wnicu was passed by nine ayes. Bill to locate capital at Prescott came up, and Mr. Zeckendorfs motion to strike out i'rescott and insert Tres Alamos, was lost by five rays and the ayes of Messrs Brady, DeLong and Zeckendorf. Bill was then passed under suspension of the rules by five ayes and the nays of Messrs Brady, DeLong, Re dondo and Zeckendorf 4. Mr. Hargrave then moved to reconsider the vote by which the bill passed, and also to indefi nitely postponelhe motion lo reconsider which latter carried. iouse oi.i amend ing chapter 48, was read and made special order for to-morrow at 11 a. in. Judiciary committee reported lor indefinite post ponement of bill to separate collector and assessor's offices from that of sheriff, and it was so disposed ol ; without recommen dation, bill relating to interpreters, which afterwards passe by nine ayes ; and for indefinite postponement of hill to trans cribe records or Yuma comity. Mr. Purdy with drew his motion for committee to report to-morrow morning, and Mr. Bishl'ord withdrew his to refer to special committee of Maricopa delegation. Mr. Purdy's mo tion to reier to Yuma delegation was lost. Mr. Wood moved to strike out Yuma and Yuma county and insert Prescott. Yava pai county, pending which. House ad journed, .
