The “Welcome” sign was out to day for the newest of Leisure Hour Clubs, the Delaware-Ohio organiza tion. The club, the nineteenth organ ized in the city, will meet for the first time next Monday night at 210V4 East Ohio street, upstairs. As the first dqwntown body to become affiliated with the move ment to occupy the slack hours of Hoosiys it will inaugurate a de parture in programs from many of the clubs. A dance, where every one’s wel come, will feature the first program. The Capitol City Night Hawks will play orchestral numbers at the opening at 8 p. m. Herman Martin will give a piano solo and William Ellis will play a piano accordion, with Harry Rodgers troupe enter taining with readings, dances and singing. A committee headed by Hyatt G. Johnson and composed of Ida Jen kins, William Goode, Paul Goode, Hazel O. Carter, Mrs. Nelle Goode and Gladys Melling, will be in charge of the program and dancing. From 9 p. m. to 10 p. m. a dance will be held. Orchestra to Play Now let’s move over to Friday night when it seems that every one has plenty of Leisure Hours and want to spend them at one of the six programs scheduled for that evening. At the Ft. Wayne and Walnut club they’ve got a orchestra that bids fair to headline the evening. It is the Indiana Federation of Civic Clubs Young People’s orchestra, di rected by Leslie C. Troutman. Community singing and games augment the orchestral selections. The program will be held in the Central Christian church gym nasium. Quality and Quantity Quality and quantity is the aim of the Crispus Attueks Club in its Fri day first-night bill. There’s everything from magicians to dancers and Jazz orchestras on the program. The club’s programs are under the direction of a committee headed by W. E. Grubbs with Russell A. Lane, W. E. Baugh, Julian D. fcoleman, and S. F. Artis, as other members. Grownups in Droves Brookslde park’s club is still sharpshooting for the high at tendance mark at programs. , Monday night’s well-balanced bill under the auspices of the Brookside Civic League drew a crowd of ap proximately 300 persons. “And the grown-ups were there in droves,” declared a Brookside booster. Minstrels in Program “What you-all doing tonight?” The answer to that question you’ll find if you hear. Mose, Gloomy, Midnight and Rastus, in the .Irving ton Minstrels at the Leisure Hour program of Margaret Christian park at school No. 82, 4700 English avenue, on Friday night. Layman D. Kingsbury will be In terlocutor. Endmen will be George K. Vestal, Midnight; Henry M. King, Gloomy; Ralph E. Klare, Mose, and John F. Hoff, Rastus. The Saraha Grotto entertainers and Jackson’s orchestra will be on the program in addition to a group of specialty numbers. R. C. Leavitt will sing a solo. Jug Band to Play The little brown jug will dish out music at the program of School 26 on Fridfy night. A jug band in addition to selec tion of the band of Julian M. Tyler will head the program. The Jug music will be under the leadership of Jesse Taylor. Other units of the program are a sailor dance by pupils of School 26, directed by Mrs. Mercy Smith Lear; the Harmony quartet; a tap dance by James Pyles; folk dances by School 26, led by Mrs. Anna John son; singing of the Boys’ Glee Club, under the direction of Mrs. Martha Hill, and games.
