Bit T nitcd Press OftAND RAPIDS, Mich., April 8. —Henry B. Bedford, school prin cipal, confessed Friday, according to police, that he strangled Mrs. Mar garet Bengert and her 8-year-old son to death and placed her baby in the oven of a stove. Bodies of the mother, boy and baby were found in Bedford's home Thursday. Bedford was found un conscious in the gas-filled kitchen. The mother, Mrs. Margaret Ben gert, 28, and 8-year-old Carl Ben gert had been strangled. Three month-old Thalbert was asphyxiat ed in the kitchen stove oven, a few feet from where Bedford lay sprawled across two chairs. Carl Bengert Sr., a cabinet ma ker, discovered the unconscious form of Bedford and the three bodies rn Thursday when he went to the house hoping for a reconciliation with his wife, whom he left two days before. The mother's body was in an upstairs bedroom. The body of Carl was found in an automo bile parked in the rear of the house. Bengert rented the house from Bedford, who moved in to live with the Bengert family as a boarder two years ago when he and his own wife were divorced. The father told police he left home last Tuesday after a quar rel with his wife and Bedford. AUTOMOBILE CHANGES OWNERS 25 TIMES Pennsylvania Vehicle Exhausts Al phabet in Filing System. HARRISBURG, Pa.. April 8. A single automobile registered in Pennsylvania has had twenty-five different owners, according to bureau of motor vehicle records. The much-transferred vehicle has exhausted the alphabetical fil ing system of the bureau and has forced the recorders to use double letters. Under the filing system, anew automobile is given a straight nu meral number. Each time it changes ownership, a letter of the alphabet, progressing from A to Z, but eliminating I, O and Q, is prefixed to the original numeral designation. The automobile which has had twenty-five transfers of title has started AA series, the first on record in the state. The machine in question start ed its career in 1928. Its changing ownership has netted the state $26.50 in title fees, $56 in regis tration fees, and $6 in transfer costs. Births Boys Stanley and Leila Thomas, 517 Spring.
