TO DREDGE HONOLULU HARBOR.

ROPOSALS to dredge out the Harbor of Hon
olulu wi:i be received bv the undersigned, at
his office, until 12 o'clock, M., on Monday, the 18th
day of September next. Tenders must be rea tRd
cvbe. The mud or earth to He taken from, and de
posited at the place designated by the Sup't of Pub
lic Works. A quantity, trot less than two hundred
thousand yards cube, will be contracted for to be
done. Whatever quantity, exceeding that, which
may be required to be done thereafter, shall in no
air vitiate the contract. Twenty thousand dollars
will be paid ac the completion of the first ten thous
and yards dredged out, and seventeen thousand dol
lars more, at the completion of&ixty thousand yards,
gross. Should no further appropriation than the
present one of $40,000, be made in future, for this
object, then all machinery and material used by the
contractor in the work, shall rcveit to Government,
(subject, however, to arbitration, at the option, of
either party,) otherwise to belong wholly to con
tractor. All payments, subsequent to those speci
fied above, are to be made monthly, when due, ac
cording to amount of work done, as jer contract
price. Twelve calendar months, from and after
signing of contract, will be given to dredge out the
first ten thousand cubic yards,- thirty calendar months
thereafter, will be giver, to complete the two hun
dred thousand yards. The time for doing further
work, should it be necessary, will thereafter be
agreed upon by the parties contracting. Satisfactory
security will be required for the faithlul performance
