the backing of the people, so it is
the endeavor to secure this back

Hon. J. P. Cooke is expected up
rom Honolulu on tomorrow morn
ng's Kinau.
Mrs. Frank Damon and Miss S.
Damon, mother and sister of Mrs.
Dr. Putman. arrived from Honolu
lu on the Kinau last Wednesday
morning. They will be the guests
of Mrs. Putman for several weeks.
Mrs. C. M. Cooke and Miss A.
Cooke,, of Honolulu, are guests of
friends and relatives on the Gar
den Island, having arrived last
Wednesday.
Dr. Wilcox, of the Federal Ex
perimental station, Honolulu, is on
a professional trip to the Garden
Island.
Ben Vickers of the T. H. Davies
Co., Honolulu, is again on Kauai,
having put in an appearance with
the Kinau last Wednesday morning.
S. A. Strader of Gunst Cigar Co. ,
Honolulu, was a Kinau arrival.
Hon. Francis Gay and party re
turned from Honolulu last Wed
nesday. Supervisor W. D. McBryde re
tnrned from the metropolis on
Wednesday's Kinau.
Rev. and Mrs. Akina of Wai
mea, were returning passengers
from Honolulu on the Kinau Wed
nesday morning.
Miss Flora Albright, principal
of the Lihue private school, return
ed Wednesday from a brief trip to
the city.
Harold Rice of the Valley Isle,
Is the guest of friends and relatives
in Lihue.
Judge C. S. Dole was transacting
business in Waiinea last Thursday
E. C. Smith, the apiarist, is on
Kauai looking after his busy little
sweet makers. He reports hnding
the little workers on the job and
doing excellent work.

plaster on Lihue's big new store
building.
