THE GARDEN ISLAND. TUESDAY, DECEMBER 14, 1315. PROF. BRYAN ON IERSEA LIFE 11 Prof. V. A. Brvan, of the Col lege of Hawaii, delivered a de lightful illustrated lecture under the auspices of the Waimea Liter ary Club at t h e residence o f Mr. and Mrs. Th. Brandt Friday evening on the subject of life on the ocean floor. Nearly 200 peo ple attended. The lantern slides were projected upon a screen at an end of the lanai, the speaker having a vantage from which he could be plainly heard by all pres ent. The illustrations of under-sea life combined the fruits of scientif ic research in many parts of the world, and the Professor, in his easy way of explaining the nume rous specimens, evinced an unu sual familiarity with a subject which, to the laymen, is largely mystery. After the lecture refreshments were served, and the party broke up. The evening- was voted one of the mort interesting and in structive vet attempted b y the Club.
