Ho Is Expected to Poll a Great Majority Democrats Endorse Two Republicans. Tom Clark and Wilcox. WAILUKU, Maui, H. T., Sept. C The choice of the Territorial Conven tion for Delegate to Congress was well received on Maui, even by some of the leading Democrats. "Tom" Clark Is n reconcllcd. He has Wilcox in his pock et, he declares, and so he must down the Prince. How the Honolulu Iijmo Rulers will receive this intelligence, it Is Hard to tell, but the Wailuku district Home Rulers have moved, at mass meeting held last night, that Wilcox's being In Tom's pocket Is worth looking Into, and themore the fusion talk m the Home Ruler's camp last night was postponed until the 17th Inst. I Hon. S. E. Kalue, one of the Jeadlng I Home Rulers here, Is not favorable to ' having the Democrats absorb the Home Rulers. The chances are that he will throw Wilcox overboard and Join tile Republican forces. The Democrats held a nominating mass meeting at Walhee last Wednes day night. Notwithstanding the incle ment weather, Clark's followers turned out In good style. The Republicans al so turned out, and there were as mny of the latter as there were of the Dem ocrats and Home Rulers. At the bal loting which was conducted later on, however, the Republicans did not vote. Clark hit upon a novel way of con ducting his nomination. He gave to the nucting the names of the proposed Republican candidates, the names of the Home Rulers nominees, and six pi his own selecting. The balloting result ed in the endoisement ot S. Ke.linol and P. Pali, two proposed Republican nom inees, and the selection of T. B. Ly ons, J. Hapninui, A. K. Forsythe and T. Clark for the representative slate and J. K. Richardson for the senatorial ticket. With the nominations to take place next Monday at Republican heuduuar ters, the organization of the Republi can party on Maul will be complete, and the workers will get right down to hard work. AV. F. Pogue, chairman of the Dis trict Central Commute, has workers all over the Island, and he himself has left headquarters to consult with work ers in Kula. There was an enthusias tic meeting at Keokea last night where Kaluna showed the natives the errors of Wllcoxlsm. If Kula does not go Re publican this term. It will not be the fault of these leaders. It is rumored around streets today that C. H. Dickey is not anxious to get the nomination of the Republican Dis trict Committee for the Senate. A. N. Kepolkal Is said to be the logical choice of the convention, but the latter is urg ing Keliinol to stand for the nomina tion. It Is doubtful if Keliinol s sup poiters for the lower houses will agree to this proposition. The Republican candidates will make their maiden speeches next Monday night at the Skating Rink. A grand rally is expected, and the result of the quiet work of the party precinct work ers will be manifested. Trains will run from Pala, Klhel, Puunene and Kahu lul. The Republican candidates will leave for Molokal sometime next week, where they expect to meet the Prince. From there the whole delegation will come to Maui. It is conlldently expect ed that the Prince will poll a great ma jority on Maul. THE CROCERS. 1060 FORT STREET. TWO TELEPHONES 210. . G. IRWIN & GO. 'Llmltori.) ...AGENTS FOR... OIL 'BOAT AT KA1IULUI. Barkentine Fullerton Arrives Safely From Sun Francisco. KA'HULUI, September C The oil ship Fullurton, 'Captain McDonald, reached Kahulul on Wednesdny after noon, l'J days out from San Francisco with the first cargo of fuel oil ever shipped to the Islands. The Interior of the hull of the Ful lerton is fitted up with 21 bulkheaded tanks of an average capacity of 1000 barrels each. Sixteen of these tanks are for oil and the remaining eight for water ballast. The Fullerton brought down about 15,000 Tiarrels of oil for the Klhel Plantation. It will require at feast a thousand feet of canvas hose to unload the Ful lerton at Klhei, and as the hose had not been received from the East, the Fullerton left San Francisco without it. Consequently it will be necessary to unload the oil in the tanks at Kahulul from which point it will be conveyed to Klhel in the oiltank cars of the Kahu lul R. R.
