As the time draws near the lighters who are to appear on Monday night are all easing up In their training and are taking things eay until It is time to enter the ring. It Is hard to say which bout Is at tracting the most attention, the- Hulhui -Ryan or the McFadden-Modlln go. Hulhui and Ryan are to battle for the welter-weight championship at 145 lbs. The man who wins will be the undis puted champion of the Islands, and must look to some opponent In the states for his next fight. McFadtlen and Modlln will box for the feather-weight championship at 131 lbs. The winner of this bout must also look for new worlds to conquer. Each man claims that he Is In the pink of condition and that he will en ter the ring fit to put up the best fight that Is In him. "I will knock off hard work from now on," said McFadden. I'Thls Is the third contest for me here and my train ing for the previous two has put me right. I am in fine shape. Modlln when seen at Camp McKinley said: "I am now down to weight, 131 lbs., and feel as strong as I ever did In my life. I will put up u good fight if condition has anything to do with It." Soldier Ryan lias the hardest punch of any boxer, who will appear in the ring on the night of the great carnival. On Woods and Sheldon's punching ma chine he soaked the pad for 1500 lbs., beating the record held by Tim Mur phy 100 lbs. If Iip ever lands one of these sledge hammer blows on Bill it will be curtains. BACK TO 'FIRSCO.
