Tho Scout movement which has assumed such proportions among the boys of this country has been taken up by Philadelphia girls, and one of tho first girl troops in the United States is in process of organization, with Miss Anna G. Molcher, a member of tho Wissahlckon Presbyterian Church of which the Rev. Elliot Field Is pas tor, the leader In tho movement. There has been a great deal of agi tation among tho women of tho city since the Boy Scout movement began to start something of the same sort among girls, and when the news be came public that a Spokane, Wash., man had written a manual for girl troops, Miss Meicher Immediately started organizing her troop. Tho name of tho organization will be "The Girl Guides," instead of scouts and although the object of the two organizations is similar in many ways, the girls' manual will bo different in many respects. The out door sports will not bo dropped, as tho thought of tho movement is' to instill in the hearts of tho girls as well as of tho boys a lovo for tho outdoor life of the country and the woods. Members of the Society of Friends, of Delaware county, held a meeting last night in tho meeting house at Landsdowne to consider a proposition to start a troop of Boy Socuts in that district. Arthur W. Dunn, of tho Executive Council, of Philadelphia, presided at the meeting, which was attended by more than fifty boys and a large number of their parents.
