with blocks, for In this respect there
Is nhundant room for improtemont.

planking is being removed and' now
planks are being laid. Somebody has
certainly noen busy since the auto
mobile caved through the other dav
near the entrance to the upper rail
road wharf.
Record Shipment of Pines.
wnen tne Arizonan leaves the
Islands for Sallna Cruz this week
she will carry In her holds what is
believed to be a record shipment of
ennned pineapples. The agents of
the American-Hawaiian lino say that
she will fake for New York and Lon
don at least one hundred thousand
cases of this fruit. She also takes
from Honolulu and other island ports
about nine thousand tons of sugar.
The Arizonan is now loading cargo
at the lower railroad wharf and will
be ready to leave for Port Alien and
other Island ports tomorrow night,
whence she will sail for Sallna Cruz
the latter part of the week.

has begun to lay new planking on
me Hackfeld wharf. It is said that
this will bo necessary before the pro
posed blocks can be laid as proposed.
It is intended in a short time to lav
blocks on the Hackfeld wharf, mak
ing a pavement similar to that of the
Alakea wharf, which has proved to
give good service.
