The county commissioners of Trego coun
ty, Kansas, met to-day in regular session
the county clerk and all the members of the
board were present.
The minutes of the last regular and all
subsequent special meetings were read and
approved.
The report of the county treasurer for the
quarter last past is as follows: -

matters herein reported, for the quarter

A note of J. Simpson Smith, for $353 which
had not been assessed In 1-495. and which had
been missed by the assessor in 1896. was add
ed to the tax roll and doubly assessed.
In answer to the advertisement for sealed
proposals to build two bridges, such propo
sals were received from the Youngstown
Bridge company, the Missouri Valley Bridge
company and the Wrought Iron Bridge com
pany. These proposals were opened by the
board and, after consideration, . the lowest
bidder, the Youngstown Bridge company's
bid being for $1,790. all bids were rejected:
Afterward, however, this company's repre
sentative, reducing bis bid to $1,700. the bid
was accepted, and a contract entered into
by the said parties. Said contract may be
found on file In the office of the county
clerk. - : ;
' Numerous, bills were allowed, a list of
which' may be found below, after which the
board adjourned to .meet Tuesday, July 7,
1896. ' "

go county, Kansas, met to-day in regular
session, pursuant to . adjournment.. The
county clerk , and-all the' members were

L Od request of Superintendent Peacock the
boarirappointed George C. R. Piersee, asso
ciate examiner of teachers in place of Miss
Artie Hobbs, who had resigned.
Hinds Swlggett and Mrs. Mary Hunt were
appointed associate examiners of the county
treasurer's books and accounts for the quar
ter. The contract for the printing of the Patter
son report In full was given to the Westers
Kansas World at legal rates.
A rebate from the taxes 1894. amounting to
$6.90 was allowed A. II. Blair, on account of
his not having been allowed the exemption
of $300 to which he was constitutionally en
titled. County warrants to the amount of $3,050.78
which had been paid by the county treasurer
during the quarter and had been returned by
him. were cancelled by the board.
