October . 1911. The Hoard of County Commissioners met today in regular session at the office of the County Clerk. All the members beimr pre eent namely. Cnairman F. B, Walker, Com missioners John McNauRhton and A. W. Punnton and the County Clerk. The board was called to order by the Chairman and remained in session during the 2. 3, 4 and 5th taking a recess from day to day. The minutes of the following meetings were read and approved as read namely; Regular session. July of July 3d: the adjour ned session July 5, 6. 7 and 8 and the session of August 7th held for the purpose of making the annual tax levies. The annual report of the Trego High School was read and approved as read as were also the quarterly statement of the County Treasur. the quarterly re port of the County Superintendent County Clerk. Probate Judge. Register of Deeds. County Attorney, Clerk of the Dis trict Couft and Sheriff and the District Judges Semi-annual report of Trego Co. jail. The appointment of W. H, Swiggett for truant officer of Trego county for the ensu ing year by the Supt. of lub. Instruct ion was approved. A petition signed by several taxpayers of Trogo county for a bridge across the Smoky Hill river between sections 34 and 35, twp. 14. Range 4 was disallowed. O. F. Reeves was allowed refund of the tax for 1910 on SJ4. ne Ji, 28. 13, l23- -same being liovt. land on Mch. 1, 1910. Request of T. J. Jfixon for a refund of tax for 1910 and reduction of valuation for 1911, was not allowed. The request of A. C. Carey for a refund of tax on imprcvements on ni4. 8, 13, 25 for 1910. and reduction of same forl911.was not gran ted. The bill of Dr. B, A. Isenberg of J25 for medical attendance of W. A. Carpenter fam ily in Sept. 191 o, was not allowed as board did not consider them county charges at that time. The bill of Dr. b. A. Isenperer for 4.00 for fumigating material used in Van Sayoc and Bennett families not allowed, board consid ering this covered by contract of County Physician and Health Officer and should be taken care of and paid by him. The bill of Hudson Harlan, countv survey or for $16 for surveying for dams for G. W. Kellum and G. W. Lynn under the provisions of Chapter 211. Laws of 1911. was laid over until the Januaryl9l2,meeting.On motion the following resolution was made: "That per sons hereafter requiring the services of the County Surveyor for surveving maps and and estimates for dams for the building of ponds ' shall ray all all costs nf ihr County Surveyor for such services at the time of service, and when authentic proof is furnished that said dam and nond is completed, as provided for bv saidChapter 211. Laws of 1911, the party shall then file a certified voucher for the amount of such surveyors costs." Petitions were on Hie signed bv a nnmhpr of citizens of Trego county, asking the board to place a bounty on rabbiTs. The matter was considered with much favor, their beinir some doubt however as to the legality of the matter by the board. On motion the fol lowing was adopted. That Trego Countv pav a bounty of Be each for rabbit scalps, beginning with Oct. 16. 1911. and remain m force until Dec. 30, 11. both days inclusive. This order to remain suhieet to the advice of the County Attorney of the written opinion of the Attorney Gen eral as to the legal rights of the acts of the Board in trie matter. In the matter of a petition for a road filed by H. Burkett et, al: the Board took a recess during the forenoou of the 5th inst. and drove to the place of beginning of the said proposed road and viewed the same. Dur ing the afternoon session the matter was duly considered. An unfavorable opinion was unaminous and the prayer of the petit ioners was not granted. in tne matter ot a road petitioned for bv Wm. Marcy appeared before the board and stated that owing to a high bluff on the line it would be necessary for the road to varv or detour on the northeast quarter of Sec. 2-15-24 and that the owner. A. T. Holmes. would accept $25 for the land taken by the said deviation. And -ordered that the Connty Surveyor be Instructed to survey and mark the necessary variations in accordance with the law.
