Receipts ::,.",Hi) hogs, 1.100 cattle and 550 sheep, against 11,704 hogs, 1,:41 cattle and 475 sheep a week ago. and 7.1: hogs 1,11s cattle and 170 sheep a year ago. Receipts of hogs were comparative ly small. On account of continued small receipts, the tendency has been toward ahiiihrr level and with a fur ther advance of 5fl'r; the market is now at ::oc higher than the close of last wek. packers evidently rea lized that there is a poor prospect for liberal receipts and honvht. more free ly than heretofore this wek. There was also a fair demand from shippers and a prompt clearance was made. Cattle Steady to Strong. There was a small run of cattle, but what was lacking in quantity was to some extent made up in quality. Among the offerings were better cat tle than have he. n heretofore this season and in a ueneral way quality and conditions were good. The mar kel opened at strong prices lor prime heaw steers and h t cows and heif ers. Steers that were lacking in qual itv weight or fat, met witli rather a poor demand and were more or less diflieult to sell at barel steady prices. Sheep Held Steady. The supply of sheep and lambs was average, and .with just about enough to encourage competition from buy ers there was an active market. Prices were strong to higher. In ex treme cases there was no advance but a considerable larger supply sold around top figures. A prompt clear ance was made and the close steady. was STEERS Good t" cIiol'Hs Bteer. i;)00 lbs and upward $ 5 50(5 C 25 CoT.moa to medium ttoeri".. 1,200 lt)o. and upward 4.G5(a 5.50 Good to choice neeta 1,150 to 1,250 lbs 4 5 05 Common to medium steer?, 1,150 to LLT-O lbs 4 15ft? 4 90 Good to choice steers. 900 to 1,100 lbs 4 25 5 00 Common to med'nra steers. 900 to 1,100 lbs 3 75(T 4 35 Choice feeding 2'eeu:. 900 to 1,000 lbs 3 75(0' 4 00 Good feoilio vtecrs.. 3r0 to 1,000 lbs C 25 3 50 Medium fsodlcx etej?n 700 to 900 lbs 2 73 3 25 Common tj fc.wt utvyck- ers 2 25 It 3 00 H&iiTKi.tf Good to choice heifer?. 4 35 f 00 Fair to medium heifer''.. 3 754 25 Common light heifers.. 2 75 3 65 to choice cows .... 3.05 4.25 Fair to medium cows ... 3.0(pa 3.50 Canners and cutters .... 1.25 3.00 Good to choice cos ana ar.d calves SO 00 50 00 Common to medium cows and calves 20.0W 30.00 HULLS AND CALVES Good to prime bulls. .. 3 00 TT 3 50 Fair to medium bulls .... 2.50 2.75 Common bulls 2.001- 2.25 Common to best veal calves 4 50(f 7 00 Fair to good heavf 3 )Wn 0 00 n'oijs.
