pation." was merely a list of several persons to whom he
wished a copy of the lerald containing his manifesto. to
he sent and that he. no more than any other individual.
was warranted in stating that they are engaged in co-op
orating with the Cubans in their revolutistary mos'
meats. lie also says that no expeditilon. such oa that
which resulted so fatally to Gen. Lopez a year ago. is now
in contemplation.
KIL{ats.--On the 23d ult., David Cooper. aged about 10(
years, son of Rev. David M. Chanty. living about ten
mniles from Clinton. La.. was accidentally killed by the
machinery of the gin. It appears that he was driving
the gin. and that stepping up an the lever to get his whip.
his head was caught between the arms of the main wheel
and the bridge-tree, and the back part of the skull
crushed. IIis father being near, ran and picked up the
quivering, though lifeless form of his interesting son. A
faithful servant, seeing his master overwhelmed with griet
by the accident, took the boy from the arms of his father.
and carried him to his fond and doting mother at the
house.

B0th ult., says: We learn through the lIernando Yorth
Mississippian, that a most atrocious murder was commit
ted in the north-eastern part of De Soto county. on Sun
day evening, 19th. by a PMr. Green upon Mr. Wm. L.
Marmon, a goodand worthy citizen. We have not ob
tained all the particulars, and therefore refrain from giv
ing what we have heard. Four persons have been tlAen
as accessory, among whom is the mother of Green, the
actor in the tragedy. Green is not yet taken, Thursday
evening tad inst.
Bince the foregoing was in typo, we have seen and con
versed with Mr. Wilson Durham. who passed through this
place yesterday evening with Green in custody, on his
way to the Hernando jail. IHI was taken in this county,
between this city and Germantown.

name of Conn, an old settler, with a Mexiooan and his
wife, were murdered in one house, and in one night, near
Santa Fe. The murderers were uppoed to be a Mexican
and a Pueblo Indian. Two Mexicans entered the store of

on him, and one of them, with a knife, made a cut which
