Murphy, charged with sollingllquor without licesee, in his house on New Levee street, opposite the Orleans Cotton Press, was required to furnish $800 security for his appearance on the 20th inst. SWINDLERS.--TwO sailors, named Ephraim Brown and John Smith, were yesterday examined before Acting Recorder Wilts, and sent to the Parish Prison in default of bail; Brown, for obtaining money from his landlady, Mrs. Keys, upon repreremttions of being em ployed upon the ship Creole, from which he had deserted i and Smith for stealing a jacket from a fellow.-boarder in the house of Antoine Pridas.
