WHAT IS THIS DISEASE THAT IS
COMING UPON US?
Like a thief at night it steals In upon
in unawares. Many persons have pains
about tho chest and side?, and sometimes
In the back. They feel dull and sleepy;
tho month hasn bad taste, especially in
in tho morning. A sort of sticky slime
collects about tho teeth. The appetite is
poor. There is a feeling like a heavy
load on tho stomach; sometimes a faint
nil-gone sensation at tho pit of the
stomach which food docs not satisfy.
Tho eyes aro sunken, the hands and feet
become cold and feel clammy. After a
while- a cough sets in at llrst dry, but
after a few months It is attended with a
greenish coloured e.pcctorntlon. The
nllllctcd one feels tired all the while, and
sleep does not seem to nll'ord any lost.
After a time ho becomes nervous, Irrita
ble, and gloomy, and has evil fore
boilings. Thcro Is a giddiness, a soit of
whirling sensation in tho head when
risiug up suddenly. The bowels become
costive; tho skin is dry nnd hot at times ;
tho blood becomes thick and stagnant;
the whites of the eyes become- tinged
with yellow, tho urine is scanty and high
coloured, depositing a sediment after
standing. .There is frequently a spitting
up of the food, sometimes with u sour
taste, and sometimes with a sweetish
laste; this is frequently attended with
palpitation of the heart; the vision
becomes impaired with spots before the
oyc3; there Is a feeling of great prostra
tion and weakness. All ot these symp
toms aro In tmn present. It Is thought
that nearly onc-thhd of our population
hiis this dlscusc in some of its varied
forms. It has been found that medical
men hao mistaken tho nature of this
disease. Some have trcateil it fora liver
complaint, others for kidney disease, etc.,
but none ot the Mirlous kinds of treat
ment luuo been attended with success,
because tho lemedy should bo such as to
act harmoniously upon each one of these
oi gans, anil upon the stomach ns well ;
for in Dyspepsia (for this is really what
the disease Is) all of these: organs partake
of this disease and require a remedy
that will act upon all at the sninqllmc.
Seigcl's Curative Syrup acts like a charm
in this class of complaints, giving almost
inuncdia'tcd relief. The following letters
from chemists of standing lu the com.
munity where thdy live show In what
estimation the article is held.
John Archer, Ilai thill, near Sheffield:
I can confidently recommend it to nil
who may bo sullerlng from liver or
stomach complaints, having the test!,
mony of my customers, who ha c derived
great bcnellt from tho Syrup and Pills.
The sale is increasing wonderfully.
Geo. A. Webb, 111, York btrcct,
Belfast: I have sold u largo quantity,
nnd the panics hao testified toils being
whnt you repicsentit.
J. S. Metcalfe, 53, Hlghgate, Kendal:
I have always great pleasure in rccom.
mending the "Curative Syutp, for I have
never known a case lu which it has not
relieved or cuied, nnd I have eold many
grosses.
llobt. G. (Jould, 27, High Street,
Andovcr: 1 have always take a great
intcicst in your medicines and I lmo
lecommcuded them, as I havo found
nunicious encs of euro lrom their use.
Thomas Chapman, West Auckland :
I Ilnd that the trade steadily inci cases.
1 bell more of your medicines than any
other kind.
N.'Dairoll, Chin, Salop: All who buy
it nro pleased, and recommend It.
Jos. Bilkwlll, A. P. S., Kiugsbridgc:
The public teem to appreciate their
great value. '
A. Annstcad", Market Sticct, Dalton-lu-Furncss:
It Is needless for mo to bay
that your valuable medicines have great
sale in this district greater than any
other I know ot, giving great sans
faction.
Robt. Lalne, Mclksham: I can well
recommend tho Curative Syrup from
having proved its ciheacy for Indigestion
myself.
Frlockhclm, Arbroath, Forfarshire,
Sept. 23, 1882. Dear Sir, Last year I
sent you a letter recommending Mother
Sclgci's Syrup. I have cry much
pleasure lu blllt bearing testimony to tho
very satisfactory results of the famed
Syrup and Pills. Most patent medicines
dlo out with me, but Motlier Scigil has
had a steady salo ever slnco I com
monced, and is still in as great demand
ns when I llrst began to sell the mcdl.
cine. Tho cures whlcli have como under
my notice nro chiefly those of liver
complaint nnd general debility.
A certain minister in my neighbour,
hood says it Is the only thing wlticu has
benefited him and restored him to his
normal condition of health after being
unable to preach for a considerable
length or time. I could mention also a
great many other cases, but spaco would
not allow. A near' friend of mine, who
is very much addicted to costiveness, or
constipation, llnds that Mother Selgcl's
Fills aro tho only pills which suit ids
complaint. All other pills cause n
reaction which Is very annoying.
Motlier Selgcl's Pills do not leave a bad
nflcr.ciFcct. I have much plcnsuio in
commending again to MiU'cring human
ity Mother Selgel's medicines, which
are no sham. It this letter Is .of any
service you can publish it.
Yours very truly.
(Signed) William S. Glass, Chemist.
A. J. White, Esq.

Dear Sir, I wiito to tell you that Mr.
Henry Hilllcr, of Yntcshury, Wills, in.

lorm ol Indigestion for upwards of four
years, and took no end ot doctor's niedl.
uluo without tho slightest benelit, nnd
