Telephone 250. Dan Lon an, Editor WllAY TAYLOit, Local Reporter Jas. O. Ci.kvioii, Manager WHAT" IS THIS DISEASE THAT IS COMING UPON US? Like a thief at night it steak In upon us unawares. Many persons have pains about the chest and sides, and sometimes In the back. They feol dull and sleepy; the mouth has a bad taste, especially in in the morning. A sort of sticky slime collects about the teeth. The appetite is poor. There is n feeling like n heavy load on tho stomach; sometimes a, faint all-gone sensation at the pit of tho stqmach which food docs not satisfy. Tho eyes are sunken, tho hands and feet become cold and feel clammy. After a while a cough sets in at first dry, but after a few months it is attended with a greenish coloured expectoration. The utlllctcil olio feels tired all the while, and sleep does not seem to afford any rest. After a tlmo he becomes nervous, irrita ble, and edoomy, and has evil fore, boilings. There- Is if giddiness, a sort of whirling sensation in tho head when rising up suddenly. Tho bowels become costive; tho skin is dry and hot at times; tho blood becomes thick and stagnant; tho whites of tho eyes becomo tinged with yellow, tho urino is scanty and high coloured, depositing a sediment nftcr standing. There is lroqucntlyn spitting up of the food, sometimes with a sour taste, and sometimes with a sweetish lasto; this is frequently attended with palpitation of tho heart; tho vision beeomo3 impaired with spots before tho eyes; there is a feeling ot great prostra tion and weakness. All ot those symp Ioivh arc In turn present. It is thought that nearly one-third of our population has this dlseaso in somu of Its varied forms. It has been found that medical men havo mistaken tho nature of this disease. ?Somo havo ticatcditfora liver complaint, others for kidney disease, etc., but none of tho various kinds of treat ment havo been attended with success, because tho remedy should bo such as to net harmoniously upon each one of theso oigans, and upon tho stomach as well; for in Dyspepsia (for this is really what the disease is) all of these organs partako of this discaso and require a lemcdy that will act upon all at tho samo lime. Seigcl's Curative Syrup acts llkoacharm in this class of complaints, giving almost inimediatcd relief. The following letters from chemists of standing in the com munity whero thoy live show iu what estimation tho article is held. John Archer, Harthlll, near Sheffield: I can confidently recommend it to all who may bo sulterlng from liver o stomncn complaints, Having mo testi mony of my customers, who have derived great benefit from tho Syrup and Pills. Tho sale Is increasing wonderfully. Geo. A. Webb, 141, York Street, Belfast: I havo sold a large quantity, and tho parties havo tcstillcd to Its being what you represent it. J. S. Metcalfe, G5, Highgato, Kendal: I havo always great pleasure In recom mending the Curative Syrup, for I have never known a caso in which it has not reliovcd or cured, and I havo sold many grosses. Robt. G. Gould, 27, High Street, Andover: I havo always tako a great interest in your medicines and I havo recommended them, as I havo found numerous cases of euro- from their use. Thomas Chapman, West Auckland : I find that the tr.ido steadily increases. I sell moro of your medicines than any other kind. N. Darroll, Clun, Salop: All who buy it are pleased, and recommend it. Jos. JJalkwill, A. P. S., Kingsbrldgc: Tho public seem to appreciate their great value. A. Armstcad, Market Street, Dalton-in-Furncss: It is needless for mo to say that your valuable medicines havo great sale in this district greater than any other I know of, giving great satis faction. Robt. Lalnc, Mclksham: I can well recommend tho Curative Syrup from having proved Us eiheacy for indigestion myself. Frlockholm, Arbroath, Forfarshire, Sept. 23, 1882. Dear Sir, Last year I sent you a letter recommending Mother Solgcl's Syrup. I havo very much pleasure in still bearing testimony to thu very satisfactory results of tho famed Syrup and Pills. Most patent medicines dlo out with me, but Mother Scigel has had a steady sale ever slnco I com menced, and Is still iu as great demand as when I ilrst began to sell tho medi cine. Tho cures which havo conio under my notlco aro chiefly thoso of liver complaint and general debility. A certain minister in my neighbour hood says It is tho only thing wkich has benefited him and restored lilui to his normal condition of health after being uuablo to preach for a considerable length of time. 1 could mention also a great many other cases, but space would not allow. A near friend of mine, who Is very much addicted to costlvencss, or constipation, finds that Mother Solgcl's Pills aro tho only pills which suit his complaint. All other pills cause a reaction which 13 very annoying. Mother Solgcl's Pills do not lcavo a bad after-effect. I havo much pleasure in commending again to millering human ity Molhor Seigcl's medicines, which aro no sham. If this letter Is of any Bcrvlcu you can publish It. ' Youis very truly. (Signed) William S. Glass, Chemist. A. J. White, llsq. 15th August, 18S3. Dear Sir, I wrilo to tell you that Mr, Henry Hlllicr, of Yntcsbury, Wills, In. ,ftrms mo that he suffered from isovere torm of Indigestion for upwards of four years, and took no end of doctor's incdl clno without tho slightest bcnellt, and doclares Mother Selgoi's Syrup which ho got from mo lias saved his life.
