SUMMER RESORT ON HAWAII I
There is a flue opportunity for
people who are tired of Honolulu
dust and want sonic fresh air and
comfortable rest for a month or two,
to enjoy these atthellalfway-IIouse
on Hawaii. This house is built :u a
resting place for tourists on their
wn' to the Volcano, and is acknow
ledged among all the traveling peo
ple as a charming little spot. It is
situated halfway between the II. A.
CO.'S nlniltnlSon ot "Polinln nnd tl(l
Volcano. Passengers aro landed at
Puiiahiu every Wednesday and
Saturday, and will And there a first
class hotel in every respect. Having
had a good rest there after the sea
trip, they will bo transported to
Pahaln on tramway and further on
carriago to the Halfway-House. The
whole trip from Punaluu will only
take Jl hours, and is nothing but
real pleasure. It is not like driving
on a hard dusty country road, but
one continuous carpet of soft grass.
The surroundings of tho Halfway
House are beautiful, lying right in
the woods of cverblooining Oliia and
Mamane, with the majestic Mauna
loa above, and views to the ocean
on the other side. Tlio climate is
excellent and for sickly people tho
place is really a sanatorium. The
nights aro nice and cool, and your
sleep is not disturbed by mosquitoes
and nothing can be more' refreshing
and in vigorating than a morning
walk among the trees, inhaling the
delicious balmy air, and listening to
tho music of twittering biids. Hero
are ail varieties of ferns and many
wonderful caves, and everything to
attract attention of those who have
a littlo interest in studying and en
joying nature. Good animals aro
always at hand, so a splendid ride
can be had whenover wanted, and
also a new elegant brake will he at
tho disposal of tho guests. As men
tioned beforo, the Halfway-House is
only a short distanco from the
Volcano, so no better opportunity
can be had to visit this wonder of
the world. Tho house itself is nicely
put up with comfortable rooms and
beds, nnd first class meals will
always be served at a moderate rate.
The chargo will bo S2 per day
including everything. J."M. Li:i:.
