Letters were received from the
Minister of Interior this week nomi
nating inspectors of election for tht
different districts. Although sec
tion -! of the election law reads
that the inspectors "'shall be ap
pointed by tlie Minister nf Intciior

parties at each general election,"' no

lency's appointments, that he even
attempted to comply with the law,
or will he perhaps claim, that it was
not possible to find men on the op

"Monday evening Wilcox held a

The house was crowded mostly by
H. I'. Baldwin's employees. The
expressions and feelings were unani
mously in favor of tlie Working
men's party, on whose side the
principal speakers were: Wilcox,
John Kahuna, Capt. Ileinemnnn, .).
F. Noble, and John W. Kalua.
Nobody appeared from the other
side.
The "electors of the Reform Par
ty "have through printed posters been
uotilied that a. meeting at Inst will
be held iu Kaliiilui on the L'o'lh iust.
The object is not stated. The pos
ters are signed "R. 1). Walbridge,
Chairman Central Committee." Air.
Walbridge has for some lime held
an ollice of trust under the Govern
ment, and no notice of his resigna
tion from such ollice has appeared
so fur; but still he seems to be al
lowed to take an active part iu poli
