on H. B. M. S. Champion who died
this morning from injuries sustained
through an accident to his legs,

noon. Ho will be buried with naval
honors.
William Wilson, who was lately
discharged from prison, having serv
ed a term of six mouths lor larceny
of twenty seveu watches, was again
arrested yesterday for purloining a
bottle of beer, the property of Z.
Klemme.
Yesterday's Holomua came out
with blank spaces and an explana
tion that a couple of galleys of
editorial and local matter had been
knocked into "pi." Whether a libel
suit was lost in the wreck may only
be guessed at.
Kakalia aud Kakaio, were arrested
on Sunday for obstructing police
officers Baker and Paia while in tho
discharge of thoir duty. The charge

the men sentenced to pay a fine of

along, tho grandeur of the scone
being intensified by tho belching

tho Hawaiian Hag. Passing tho foot
of Fort street and crossing tho bow
of the U. S. S. Philadelphia, the
llagship's band gracefully struck up
"God Save tho Quoon, tho officers
and men on tho British cruisor re
maining stationary with thoir right

lute. Tho Admiral's salute followed,
which was roplicd to by tho Phila
delphia's battery, and tho cruisor
swung her stern arouud and backed
into the spaco botwoon tho Philadel
phia and tho Miowera.
Tho Champion is a third-class
screw cruisor of 21180 tons and 2000
indicated horse power, and carries
12 trims. 25 officers aud 250 mon.
