Tho great advantages to bo dorivod from tho uso of tho Natiomal Cane
SmiEuiiEit tiro thoroughly established and acknowledged by Planters
generally.
Tho largo nnmbor of Planters uiing thorn ia tho United States, Cuba,
Argentine Republic, Porn, Australia and elsewhere, bear witness to the
above claim.
Tho uso of tho SiiiiEDDKit very largely augments the quantity of cane
tho mill can grind (25 to 50), also tho extraction of juico (6 to 12).
It is a great safeguard, making known at onco tho presence of any
pieci-s of iron, stakes from cars, or anything which would bo liable to damage
tho mill, and allowing amplo timo to rornovo samo beforo damaging the mill.
Tho Biiukddkr is very strongly mado, and frdm tho manner of ita opera
tion it cuts or tears theso pieces of wood or iron without often breaking the
SiiitKDUKii; and if anything breaks, it is simply tonio of tho knives or cutters,
which can bo quickly and economically replaced. Tho Biiukddkr, as its
name indicate!, tears tho cano into shreds of varying lengths, perfectly open
ing it und allowing tho mill to thoroughly press out tho juices without re
quiring the immenso extra power necessary to grind or crush tho wholt
eano. Tho Shredder spreads tho shredded cano uniformly and ovenlv to
tho mill rolls, and does away with tho necessity of spreading tho bagasse bv
hand between tho mills, whoro regrlnding is in uso. No greater amount o'f
boiler cupacity is required to operate tho Shkhddku than that which was
suQlcicnt for tho mill, for tho ubovo reasons. Wo furnish full working
drawings for tho installation of our Shredders, enabling any competent en
gineer to successfully install and start thorn.
In ordering SiiREDnKRB from us, pleaso sond small sketch, showiug thu
diameter and width of tho mill rolls with which Shredder Is to bo connected,
also the sido (either right or left baud as you face tho delivery sido of the
mill), upon which tho mill engino is located, also tho hoight from floor line
to centor of front mill roll shaft, and distance center this shaft to front end
of bed plato. Theso Siiheddeub aro now boing used by the Hllo Sugar Co.
