Mr. Marsdeu said the Sansovioria
was suited for moist, rich noil such
as cofioo planting required, nud its
cultivation could go hand in hand
with that product. Sisal, however,
is tho coming fibre plant for these
islands, tho Commissioner says, as it
will grow on tho most arid autl bur
ron wastes that cau bo found. In
deed, if his language was put down
literally, it would make the reader
boliovo that sisal would grow on n
tin roof or the top of a Fischer xtool
range.
Mr. Marsdeu has on view a lot of
tobacco leaf, in which the curing
