DISTRICT COURT MATTERS.
Plenty of Oases With Varying; Re
sults. District Magistrate Perry did a
big day's work to-day, being kept
busy from 9:30 o'clock this morning
until after the noon hour. Tho fol
lowing is tho result of this morning's
session:
Jim Harrington, charged with
carrying deadly weapons, to wit, a
pistol aud a ptir of brays knuckles,
pleaded guilty. Fined $25. Billy
Woolham, better knowu as "Billy
the Clipper," pleaded not guilty to
a charge of intending to commit au
offense on Lieut. Gus Conies, of the
mounted patrol. His trial was set
for the 23d iust. These men wero
arrested Saturtlay uight in a Hotel
street restaurant.
Domingos Forroira was put under
$100 bonds to keep the peace against
tho person of P. D. Kellet, Jr., for
six months.
Sixteen out of twenty-four chn fa
gamesters ploaded guilty to partici
pating in tho same aud sentence was
suspended until to-morrow, whon
tho remainder will bo tried.
Two subjects of the Mikado's
kingdom pleaded guilty to enjoying
a game of cards for nickels and wore
lined 1U each.
A Chinaman named Akaua for
violating tho Sunday law had to
pony up $3.
An Chan was given a months freo
lodgings in Low's hotel for persist
ing in "hitting the pipe." A com
panion who had turned state's evi
dence was arraigned for libidinous
solicitation and explanations set for
Weduesday morning.
Kalawaia for assault and battery
on an old nativo had to dig up $20.
Tho old gout was pretty badly used
up. Ho had been shoved olT a
veranda and in tho fall his head
struck on tho rock. Anothor native
pleaded guilty to assault and bat
tery, but tho case being a slight one,
ho was fined Sf.

Margaret, the eight-year old
daughter of Geo. 1'. Castle, full from
a horse on School street noar the
Fort Street School on Saturday aud
was badly injured. Tho girl was
riding n very geutlo horse, one that
bus been a pot iu tho family for
yoarc. The animal became fright
ened at something and reared,
throwing the girl backwards on the
ground. Dr. Day attended her ami
found one of the blood vessels In
the brain ruptured. She is much
better to-day ami is resting easy. It
is hoped that tho accident will not
result seriously.

Death of Young Dr. McOrow.
Dr. Henri Goulden McOrow died
at 7.110 o'clock this forenoon aflor a
long illness, lie was born iu New
York City on April 10. 180.1. The
cause of death was infls.ni mat ion of
tho brain. Dr. McOrew leaves a
wife aud child in San Fratmisco un
der peculiar circumstances. His
guardian since his incapacity begau,
C. L. Carter, sued iu his behalf for
divorce, Tho guardian's right so to
act was aflirmed by tho Supremo
Uourt, when the Ulrouit Court tnon
granted the divorce. Mrs. McGrew's
couusel, C. W. Aidiford, entered an
appeal against tho decree which is
now ponding. Henri was an adopt
td boh of Dr. J. S. Mc(irew, having
been a ton of Mrs. McGrew by a
former husband. The fuueral will
take place from St. Andrew's Cathe
dral at 4 p. m. to-morrow, Rev. Alex.
