In accordance with Article 54 of the
Constitution, notice Is hereby given
that a srechl election for a Senator to
fill tlie unexpired term ending the last
Wednesday In September, 1899, caused
by the resignation of H. V. Schmidt,
Senator from the Third Senatorial Dis
trict, will be held in said Third Sena
tonal District, Island of Oahu, be
tween tlie hours of S a. m. and 5 p. m.
on Friday, the 24th day of February,
1899. The nominations for candidates
must be deposited with the .Minister
of the Interior not less than ten davs
before the day of election. The voting
precincts, polling places and Inspectors
of Election In the Third Senatorial District
are as follows:

lying East and South of Nuuanu
Street, and a line drawn in extension
thereof from the Nuuanu Pali to Ato-
kapu Point.
