A STOCK CASE DEGINION.
In tho case of Jonah Kalani
anaolo and Eawananakoa vs W.
M. GifTard, treasurer of tho
Waimanalo Sugar Co., tho court
has handed down a dooision
in favor of defendant, giving
tho following opinion:
"Wo aro of the opinion that
tho holders of the certificates
of stock must obtain a propor
endorsement, or an order from
a court of equity whioh would
be equivalent thereto."
This is a case in which tho
complainants had some Wai
manalo stock giv3n thorn by tho
deceased Queen Knpiolaoi. They
wished to have this transferred
to their names on the books of
the corporation but were refused
by W. M. GifTard, treasurer,
who slated that the endorsement
of Kapiolani was necessary. Tho
matter wa9 submitted without
argument to tho court.
