of David Howard Hitchcock made Its
Impress on the public business of tho

volco was heard urging for tho great
est good for tho greatest uumbcr and
for the making of a lcprcscntatlvo

fits or results. This was as a member
oi tho convention framing tho consti
tution for the Republic of Hawaii. Ho
wns u member of the lower branch of
the monarchical legislature as early as
1859 and served severnl terms. Ho was
vice president for the leprcsentntlves
and happened to occupy tho chair
when Lunnlllo was elected King. Ho
wns, ns n member of tho convention,
0110 of tho delegates in opposition to
tho famous constitution which Kamc

governmental upheaval of 1887 David
Howard Hitchcock was elected 11 no

became an attorney by tnklng the full
course nt Ann Arbor Law School and
who practiced 'with her father up to

ter is Mrs. A. II. Loehensteln of Hllo
and a third Mrs. II. S. Townseud,
whoso husband Is inspector general of
