French Silk Gauzes
With alternating saMn and lace stripes, 44 inches wide, in
black and ill the popular evening; shades pink, light blue
maze, lavend.r, bhek snot, with silver threads, black with
satin stripe and ecru lace' insertion, Nile green, maize with
satin stiipes and ecru lace insertion, black spangled with gold
sequins, black spangled with cerice sequins, and white
spangled with silver sequins These are only a few of a stock
too numerous tor individual mention, comprising chiffons,
silk mu'k liberty silks, &c.
This most desirable fabric we import direct from Japan, and
the numb r of good qualities it possesses is astonishing. It
resembles silk in lustre and strength; it is made from a vege
table fibre, and consequently wahes, laundering perfectly:
it does not readily crumple or muss, but once rumpled it is
readily pressed so that -Jt looks as good again as new. In
spite of its extreme thinness its strength is remarkable, It
makes one of the daint est of evening dresses.

J. Darrat, one of tho bus drivers

was arrested Wednesday on tho charge
of furious and heedless driving. It
was brought out during his trial that

Judge Wilcox found Darrat guilty,
and sentenced him to pay a flno of $25

Tho Democratic general committee
has adopted a resolution calling on

Democratic position on the tariff, the
money question, trusts and monopolies.
Imperialism and presents tho fact that
though many Democrats In the United
States opposed the annexation of Ha
waii on principle, now that annexation
has been accomplished, tho Democratic
party In Congress and out hns firmly
stood for tho fullest extension of Amer
ican rights and constitutional guaran
tees to all the peoplo of Hawaii, It
stands firmly for manhood suffrage and
equality before tho law. It reaffirms
the doctrine of homo rulo in tho ap
pointment of ofllclals to. administer
affairs in the Islands.
