WHY HAY GOT MAD
Washington, Sept. 27. The morning
upurt that say Secretary of State Hay

hae the wrong bull by the horns again.
There has been no trouble between tht
S-c-ctary of State and the President.
Ilil there Is trouble, as these dispatches
have told, between Secretary of Stiie
Hay and Secertnry of War Root.
Two months or so ago they had a dls
agreement, and there was n sharp paa
sago of words between them.
Mr. Hay accused Mr. Hoot of trying
to run the entire Government, State
Department Included.
Root did not deny the charge, but In
sisted that he Intended to keep right
on.
Then Hay lost his control and the
rei.iK was a nervous collapse which
snt him scurrying off to New Hamp
shire. President McKlnley took no
part In the trouble.
iifter Mr. Hay's departure Mr. Root
took complete control of everything
relating to China, and even nssUtcil
the Stato Department In writing diplo
matic notes. This still further nngeni
Hay, when he heard about It, and that
1 j why he has not returned. The mal
tv has affected the Secretary of State
to bucIi an extent that he had a sllg-it
paralytic stroke.

White Teethl
are generally perfect and sound,
and at all events are a much
prettier feature of the mouth
than dirty and discolored teeth.
Then again when kept clean
and white are less liable to decay
which rather is due to thought
lessness in teeth care.
All teeth preparations, in a
general way are good we have
them all some better than
others.
