ing. At the League grounds on Saturday
the Military sorles was continued nil I
two gamcB were played. The M. 0. II.
went up against the Kurt Rugers and
the Knmo was a slaughter, which vnd-
ed In the Guards piling up a score that,
looks like a cricket match record.!
Seventeen runs to flvo looks like some-
thing doing and (hero Burn was. In
flvo Innings out of eight the Guard I
scored and good Ijealthy scores thoyj
were, too. Thednards made four In I
I heir first, and then did nothing till!
the third, when no lers than seven
runs were piled tip. Four more In tho'
fourth, and the score stood at 15 to 2
tho Huger boys having scored In
their second Inning.
The Rugcrltes tried two pitchers In,
a vain attempt to stop the runs from
being piled up, but it was no good
and the merry scoring went on all
the same. Every man on the Guard
team scored nnd nil, with the exccp-l
tion of It. Chilllngworth, made two '
runs each.
Tho game was a swat affair from the
start and the runners were all the,
time flying between the bags at sprint-1
iug pace. Sergeant Harry wore a
pleased smile and ho considers thst
all ihe defeats of tho past have been
wiped out by the double wins of tho
Guards and Hospital Co.
The second game was between the
Hospital Co. otherwise known as
Darry's Boatables uhd tho Fort Shat
ters, tt was a good close affair and
the Hospital Co. only won out by 4
to 3.
The Shatters led by a score of
threo to one up till the fifth Inning,
when jiarry's boys made two runs an
tied the score. Then thore was ex
citement and close play right up till
tho Inst half of tho ninth when the
stretcher bearers made one run and
won as related.
Tho Barry team has changed some
what, nnd on tho nine wcro to ho ob
served tho following well known play
ers, Walker, Wlnne nnd II. Williams.
They all played woll and tho original
Beaut team fs being gradually dono
away with.
Johnnie Williams was late, and II.
Williams wont Into tho gamo for a
whllo; this is thought to bo cause
for protert by tho Shatters and they
may tnko the mailer up. At any rate
thero was a blarney over tho matter
and some fairly fresh remarks wetc
Imado.
