This village was shocked this evening by the sen-j sational murder and suicide of Mrs. Lynwood Keene and her young son. There Is a mystery surrounding the crime, but It Is believed the cause Is due to a death pact made with her dying husband. Mrs. Keene apparently made all the preparations for her terrible deed. When all was ready she took her little boy Into her room atul shot him through the heart. Immediately afterwards she shot herself through the head, dying almost Instantly. The family were until recently pros perous, Mr. Keene being a farmer of this district. But reverses came when Mr. Keene lost his health, and the fam ily moved Into tCjwn. Toil sick to work and realizing that he wfls dying and that his wife and son would be left In destitute circumstances, it Is asserted that (.he husband and wife, agreed, that all should die together.
