Though he is or was training for the boxing championship of the United States navy and file scrap which was to set tle it is only two weeks off, E. E. Tracy of the battleship Pennsylvania was un able to withstand the temptations of lonjr-deforrod shore leave today. He broke training with a thud, and, inci dentally, the heads of one or two ship mates who attempted to discourage his hilarity. Tracy took up a strategic position on South Spring street this afternoon. He somewhat thickly promulgated his abil ity to lick anybody who wanted to start anything. It finally took one police man and five husky sailors to carry him off to the police station. No charge was made against him. J Wing on Piikol street. .Tho moving purpose of the assembly was the ap parent renewal of undesirable neigh liors among the residents in the vi cinity of the Kaatiumanu School, also the attitude of the public toward the proposed changes in the Rapid Transit franchise. Tho committee on the public park and the extension of Kewalo street rt ported in detail the valuations on the property needed, and also brought to the club the assurance of the Buper Inlendent. of Public Works that he would appoint as the board of apprais ers any three members that tho club should nominate. In the matter of leasing certain property controlled by trustees of the Queen's estate to a Japanese club. It was pointed out that Colonel Inukea had apparently shown distinct favor itism to tho Jap.'ineso outsiders as against Immediate residents who sig nified their willingness to lease the property. A committee of three was named to Interview the trustees and also the Queen on the subject. Colonel McCarthy spoke against the continuation of unsightly fences and for an Improvement of the sidewalks. The Territorial government will he asked to place a decent sidewalk about the lot on which the Kaahumanu School Is located. The need for action to preserve the Muklkl Valley to public purpose was presented to the club, and a resolu- yeslerday.
