H., SATURDAY, DEC. 16, 1911. ." r On January 1st, 1912,, the assessed value of the Kaimuki District will reach the tw increase of over $300,000 . each year. During this period two hundred and fifty horn laid, ten miles of electric and telephone lines erected, a $40,000 reservoir completed, g the beginning of what is forthcoming in the next few years. JDcstiny has marked a b suburban development. y Greater Kaimuki THE Territorial Government, the County Government, and all the best citizens are beginning to recognize Kaimuki's wonderful, and substantial growth. The last legislature authorized an expenditure of $65,000.00 for the building of an immense reservoir at the top of Palolo Hill, in order to meet the requirements of the many new homes . being built in this rapidly growing district; it also appropriated $60,000.00 for the building of Hawaii's largest public school, which will occupy an entire block at the foot of Wilhelmina Rise. Construction of this school will commence the first of next month. The Mayor, and Board of Supervisors have authorized the building of a fire station, just as soon as the details in regard to its location have been completed. The Directors of the Honolulu Gas Company have also author ized the extension of their gas mains into e very t part of the district, just as soon as 300 bona fide subscribers have been secured; just now only twenty more subscribers are required, which will be forthcoming, before the end of this year. The Honolulu Rapid Transit Company must for its own benefit, keep up with the city's progress by extending its Kai muki line to Fort Ruger, where the Federal Government is spending millions in permanent improvements, for a military reservation and park; this military reservation is destined, eventually, to become one of the island's greatest at tractions. Efforts are now being made to organize the Wilhelmina Rise Railroad Company, with'a gravity line on Wilhelmina Rise, which will be the foremost scenic railway in this Territory, when completed to the mdiintain top, and with bougnin vilia, iron wood and other shrubbery on both its sides, it wiH then become an ornamental driveway, equal lo anytdir.ij of this kind in the United States. Next -year, the Honolulu Boys School will have completed its campus grounds, in the Ocean View Tract, which will also be an ornament to the district. Kaimuki's future is absolutely assured; its residential possibilities are unlimited. The Ocean View and Palolo Hill Tracts will provide for 3500 additional homes, and the Kaimuki Land Company, Ltd., will not rest, until at least 1000 of these be constructed; today there are 317 homes in the district; without including those who have bought for speculation, our Company has 108 purchasers ,who contemplate building next year, or as soon as fdrther development makes it con venient. Considerable activity will take place in Kaimuki Real Estate during the coming year, when our property's splcn-. did elevation, and health-giving climate is appreciated more and more by those who value home life, and health the most.
