BACK TO WORK The first
news crept out this week that Louis
Jordan, who was ordered to a com
plete rest by his physicians last De
cember will return to show business
“the middle of May.” The news came
ftom his booking agency, General
Artists Corporation, who are busy
sketching a tenative schedule which
puts Louie and band into Detroit
followed by Chicago, both for 1 week
theatre dates. Though none of the
eng.igaements have been contracted
for as yet, GA'C feels sure Bop City
will get the first offer in New York.
They had been cancelled out when
lx>uie was taken ill last Christmas.
Heavy concentration will be made
on one night tours or the summer
throughout Texas and nearby states.
Meanwhile, Louie is having the
time of his life on his ranch in Ari
zona. lie’s become an experienced
“cowboy” much to the delight of
neighborhood kids. Contrary to
show life, he rises early and broils
his own thick steaks, in his own
backyard.
