However, State Attorney William
D. Hopkins said Dr. W. H. Gray,
Jr., who resigned under pressure as
president of the institution last sum
mer, was not indicted.
Dr. George W. Gore, Jr., became
president of the school April 1.
In a special report, the jury said
Dr. Gray failed to maintain proper
standards at the institution and
"permitted gross mismanagement."
It made 11 specific recommenda
tions to the legislature, governor,

ing in the Auditorium of the School
Administration Building on Frday,
April 21, at 3 p.m Miss Branhilda
AicKenzie, the President, presided
over the meeting. A splendid atten
dance represented nearly all of the
Negro schools of Dade County.
A group from Dorsey High school
under the direction of Miss Jose
phine Spicer, Miss Eloyce Clarke,
Teacher-Sponsors, presented an ex
cellent program. Miss Irene Bullard
sang “Go Down Moses” Mary
Baldwin, a reading "God’s Will For
You and Me.” A choral Group sang
"Tell Me Why” also “The Cassion
Song” Yvonne Jones a reading
‘‘Psalm of Life.” Phyllis Ferguson,
played ‘‘The Palms” on the piano.

Miss Chandler gave a very interest
talk on her work as well as to give

to Tallahassee via National Air
Lines Friday in order to attend a
conference on Teacher Training Edu
cation for the benefit of the future
Home Economics Teachers, at Fla.
A and M College. They were invited
by Mrs. Dorothy Wallace Graham,
director of the Teacher Training
Course in Home Economics at the
state college.
While at the conference Mrs. Ad
derley addressed the group on the
subject of the “Nursery School
Program in high school” and Mrs.
Lucas spoke on the topic “Every
day Living Problems in Junior High
School”.
In addition to Mrs. Adderley and
Mrs. Lucas, who incidentally were I
the only visiting teachers from Dade j
County, at the conference, Mrs. ;
Goode, a member of the faculty of
Booker T. Washington High School
of 'Pensacola, Florida, also was a
guest speaker.
The entire group was lavishly en
tertained in the Home Economics
Building with a luncheon as guests !

Club At Famcee
TALLAHASSEE The Univer
sity of Florida’s Male Glee Club ap
peared in concert at Florida A and
M College Thursday night, A'pril 20
under the able direction of Joseph
Lukiewiez. Working from a well
chosen program the group was en
thusiastically received by the audi
ence.
Most effective was the rendition
of Shubert’s “Omnipotence,” a num
ber which takes the best' voices.
It was also in Richter’s “Creation”
that the Glee Club was most compe
tent in choral harmony, refined re
leases and forceful attacks. Aside
from these attributes, the entire se
lection was one of impressive des
criptiveness.
