James is the son of Capt. and Mrs. Robert W. Sawyer. RITCHIE AND PHARR MEN’S DAY SPEAKERS Sunday, June 29, has been set aside as Men’s Day at St. James AME Church. The men will have charge of all activities of the day. They have arranged a sparkling program and are urging that you be present. The program is under the direction of Doctors Colston and Hawkins, acting as co-chair men. Rev. J. B. Blacknell is pas tor and he is personally extend ing a cordial invitation to all to be present. Prof. Miller A. F. Ritchie, chairman of the department of human relations at the Universi ty of Miami, will be the speaker for the morning service at 11:00 a.m. Prof. Ritchie will use as his subject: “Faith of Our Times.” This will be a memorable occa sion and if there is a chance of your hearing Prof. Ritchie and being with the men of St. James on next Sunday don’t miss being present. Dr. Kelsey Pharr will be the speaker for the evening service. We all know that this will be a real treat. Mr. Arthur King will be the guest soloist for the day, and an all male chorus will ren der music at all services. The entire program will be one to re member and we urge that you come early in order to get a seat and witness the entire program. The financial effort of the men is to report more money than was reported on Women’s Day by the women of St. James. The colorful proces sion was despersed twice by rain. After reaching the destination everyone was able to enjoy the program of which could have only been understood by a member of the family. Atty.
