late Rev. S. A. Sampson, left the
Mt. Olivette Baptist Church in a
motorcade for Lincoln Memorial
Park, where his memorial wa?
, unveiled. The invocation was of
i sered by the Rev. I. C. Mickens,
pastor of Olivette; the Scripture
read by Rev. J. A. King of West
Palm Beach; short expression by
Rev. N. F. Clark, Rev. J. L.
Johnson, Rev. E. J. Clark. The
Rpv. Joseph Smith delivered the
memorial address which was
I was ter-piece. Rev. J. H. John
son of West Palm Beach offered
the prayer and Rev. H. W. Moss
of Homestead pronounced the
benediction.
Other ministers participating in
the ceremony were: Rev. P. B.
Herout, Rev. Joseph Clark, Rev.
George L. Sawyer, Rev. G. Wil
son, Rev. L A. Thompson was

STATE YWCA B &
P GIRLS TO MEET
THIS WEEKEND
The Miami YWCA Business and
Professional Girls clubs of both
Murrell Branch and the Central
association, wlil be hostesses Sat
urday and Sunday, March 14 and
15, to the state conference of B
and P clubs are nationally affil
iated, and state conferences are
held annually in each state. Miss
Jean Fallon, president of the Mi
ami Central club, is Florida state
chairman.
The Jacksonville clubs are com
ing by chartered bus. Branch
delegates will be housed in the
homes of Murrel Branch club
members. More than 50 club
members will attend from north
Florida, Daytona Beach and Jack
sonville.
Registration early Saturday
afternoon will be followed by a
council meeting, composed of the
state officers an done delegate
from each club. At 4 p.m., a se
ries of workshops will open on
program, membership and finance.
Miss Betty Haines is workshops
chairman. The evening program
will have as its theme “How Can
I Live My Faith?” with the Day
tona Branch presenting the topic
“Faith in Self’; Daytona Central,
“Faith in God”; Jacksonville
Branch, “Faith in the World”, and
Jacksonville Central, “Faith in
Others.’’ The program will close
with a candle light devotional
service.
The state banquet will be held
between the afternoon and even
ing sessions, and will have a St.
Patrick’s Day motif. Committees
in charge are: Banquet, Virginia

erans Administration hospital in
Coral Gables.
We would like all legionaires,
