MIAMIANS AT
HAMPTON
By KELSEY “Kit” COLLIE
FRESHMEN INITIATED
Miami’s seven freshmen are
now enjoying life as members of
the Hampton Institute family due
to the emancipation of initiation.
The initiation which lasted for
three weeks is one ordeal that
will long be indelibly stamped on
the memory of each.
Green caps, “dog” (boys) and
“dogette” (girls) tags, along with
green ribbons, all symbols of
freshman initiation, will probably
be placed in scrapbooks of mem
iors. Parents will possibly hear
more about this phase ot conege
life than any other. If any fresh
man were asked to make a com
ment concerning this, more than
likely they would say: “It was
rough, but I enjoyed it.” You
readers can be assured that
fall’s freshmen will gel the same
or similar treatment. It’s all in
fun though.
ELECTION TIME
Freshmen went to the polls on
Monday, Oct. 19. to elect four
class officers, president, vice
president, secretary and treasur
er. Candidates were Selected by
