has received a letter from the
Rev. C. Rankin Barnes, secretary
of the General Convention in
forming him that he has beei> ap
pointed to succeed Bishop Wil
liam F. Moses as a representa
tive of the House of Deputies of
the General Convention; on the
Interim Committee on the State
of the Church.
The General Convention is the
highest legislative body of the
Episcopal church. Fr. Culmer
holds the distinction of being the
first Negro priest to serve on any
committee of the General Con
vention.
