Sunlight School Holds 24th Graduation •'Master what shall I do to in herit eternal life.” That well known quotation from the 25th verse od the 10th chapter of St. Luke was the thane of the in spiring principal address deliv ered Sunday afternpon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The speak er was the Rt. Rev. Ernest L. Petersen, bishoip otf the American Catholic Church. The occasion was the 20th annual graduation exercises of the Surtlight School of Beauty Culture. A timely accompanying pro gram was rendered on the occa sion at which time 87 students re ceived diplomas and were declar ed graduates of the school. Mrs. L. A. Julius, vice president of the school, and the wife of the presi dent, D. A. Julius, offered appro priate closing remarks to the oc casion, and J. R. Taylor, real es tate broker, served as master of ceremonies for the afternoon. OTHER GRADUATION ACTIVITIES Among the other activities in cident to the graduation, all of which prov&i to be very success ful, were the prom held Friday night at the Harlem Square Ball room, the tea held Sunday after noon immediately after the grad uation at the Fiesta Room otf the Mary Elizabeth Hotel, and the night otf fun held Tuesday night at the James E. Scott Homes’ Auditorium. Mrs. Alene Scott was the very fortunate lady iwho was crowned “Miss Sunlight” for at the prom on Friday night. Run ners-up were Mrs. Frances Bry ant and Mrs. Ruby Lazier. HONORED STUDENTS Members of the class who made the honor roll were Mmes. Alene Scott, Susie B. Smith, Naomi Latrmore, Aibbie Felton, Audrey Nelson, Elaine Harrison, Dons Fansum, Furgaria Clark, Fran ces Bryant and Mary Patterson. It in cludes 15 rides, scrambler, bumper, cars, spinneroo, roller coaster, spit fire, ferris wheel, merry-go-round, and a host otf safe rides for the small fry. Art Spencer and his Lions Motor drome and many other attractions. Admission free at all times and special reduced prices at the children’s matinee from noon un til 6 p.m. each Saturday. The park will remain an unlimited time. Estelle Brown 111 Mrs. Estelle Brown, who writes a weekly column for the Daugh ter Elk 3 of Greater Miami Temple is in Jackson Memorial Hospital where she has been confined more than a week. The daughter Elks have spared no pains to see that everything is done for her. It will be sometime before she will be able to leave the hospital. Mis. Brown is a member of St. Paul AME Church in Coconut Grove, and also a member of Kill's Chapter No. 48, Order of Eastern Stars. Dt. Olivia Rogers will serve as columnist until Dt. TALLAHASSEE The in vincible Florida A and M Uni versity Rattlers are expecting to spoil the Southern University Cats homecoming when the two arch rivals meet in Baton Rouge on Saturday, Nov. 17. The Rattlers continued to romp over opponents enroute to the national mythical championship by trouncing the Allen Univer sity Wello»wjackets 58 to 6 here Saturday. The victory clinched the SIAC crown for the fourth time in a row for the Floridians. Three-time All-American Wil lie Galimore almost downed the visitors single handed as he tal lied three touchdowns and amass ed 176 yards rushing. A1 Frazier was less spectacular with one TD and two conversions to run his total for the season to 96 points. Galimore has 11 touchdowns for 66 points.
